Statutes of the “BILU” Society (a French version) , 1882
This version of the statutes was drafted in Constantinople by the members of the “Central Bureau” of BILU (the name us derived from the Hebrew abbreviation of Isaiah 2:5 – “O House of Jacob come let us go” )‘ apparently in September 1882, shortly after their arrival their from Russia, and after the first members already come to Eretz-Israel.
The aim of the society us the political-economic, as well as spiritual-national revival (“de retablir la situation”) of the Jewish people through settlement in Syria and Eretz-Israel.
