First Fruits

Shavuot, also known as the Feast of Weeks, holds significant cultural and religious importance in Jewish tradition. One of the prominent customs during Shavuot was offering the first fruits, known as Bikkurim, to the Temple in Jerusalem. These agricultural offerings symbolize gratitude for the abundance of the land and its blessings.

This custom has revived after the return of Jewish settlers to their ancestral homeland. The people of the Yishuv proudly presented their bountiful crops during Shavuot.

Below are pictures of children bringing their first fruits in ceremonies held towards Shavuot.
