Jewish Soldiers on Passover

Passover is one of the most important holidays in the Jewish calendar, and Jews marked it even when they found themselves in harsh and extreme conditions. The Archives contains pictures of Jewish soldiers who celebrated Passover throughout the world while serving in various armies and fighting in various wars during the 20th century. Among the photographs are Russian soldiers in the Czar's army, soldiers of the Jewish Legion of the British Army during World War I, soldiers of the British Army and the American Army during World War II, and soldiers from the Israeli Army during the War of Independence, after the establishment of the State of Israel.
