Tachkemoni

Tachkemoni School was founded in Tel Aviv in 1905, and for years was the only religious school in the city. Another school was founded in the city Jerusalem in 1909. And in Jerusalem, as in Jerusalem, the founding of the school caused an outrage: The Perushim were abhorred by the notion of incorporating Torah studies and secular lessons in the same curriculum. But the school opened to the public, and became the bastion of religious Zionism in the city.
