Jerusalem celebrates its 50th anniversary. During the Six-Day War, Israel conquered East Jerusalem and the Old City from the Jordanian army. Jerusalem was once again under one sovereignty after 19 years during which it had been divided, and Jews could once again visit the Old City and the holy places. The excitement of the victory and the longing for the Old City are well illustrated in posters published in those years by various institutions which presented Jerusalem.
