The Central Zionist Archives house the archival files of the state division. These files tell the tale of the vast political activity of the leaders of the Zionist movement in their quest for founding a Jewish state in the land of Israel. Many fateful decisions and challenges surrounded the declaration of the state, such as the question of whether to declare it immediately after the end of the British mandate. Photographs from the CZA photograph collection document the dramatic event.
