The Deportation Camps in Cyprus (J21)

 

 
The Central Zionist Archives holds the archives of the deportation camps in Cyprus (1947-1949). In this record group, there are files (mostly in Hebrew) of illegal immigrants, who were detained and deported to camps in Cyprus. In the correspondence files, there are numerous lists of detainees.

Within the framework of the project of scanning of the genealogic databases of the Central Zionist Archives, the card catalog of the deportees in Cyprus was scanned, and it contains about 1,300 records (in English). This card catalog does not contain the names of all the people deported to Cyprus.

The card catalog is accessible to the public only by application to the CZA Family Research Section.
